My Best Friend

I heard a woman say this on tv this afternoon...
"My dog is my best friend. He loves me unconditionally. I cannot imagine my life without him."
I know a lot of people feel that way about their beloved pet. But if you change whom their affection is geared toward...Well, just look...

"God is my best friend. He loves me unconditionally. I cannot imagine my life without Him."

Simply....the truth. Or at least it should be for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

Wanting Nothing in Return

Why do people so often want something in return for doing something nice or good?
My husband even will rub my shoulders and scratch my back. Then when I'm nice and relaxed and about to say how much I appreciate him and what he's done...he lays down and says "my turn!". Why can't he just do something nice for me and not ask for anything in return? (He does do that sometimes by the way.)
But anyway...back to the "What's in it for me?" mentality I'm speaking of. . .
I was thinking about it the other night and then it hit me...in the heart instead of my thoughts this time. God wants the same thing from us. How many times do we go to 'pray' and go with a list of wants? We are always asking something of God. I believe He desires us to just spend some quality time with Him and praising Him and thanking Him and just talking with Him...not asking 'what's in it for me?'....'what will I get out of this?'...'here's what I need Lord.'
Think about it....I know it's changing the way I pray.

How Does Evolution Even Make Sense?

This thought came to me at 6:30 am while starting work early and I was at the office by myself.
Evolution...the thought that fish walked out of the ocean onto shore and evolved into humans. Living at the beach, I've yet to see a fish walk ashore. Why did the fish stop 'evolving'? Did they decide there were too many humans on earth now, so they could stop? Well, humans do catch fish with nasty hooks and either throw them back in the water wounded, or cut them up and eat them. That brings on another question. If you believe in evolution and the whole fish evolving into out-of-water organisms.....say you go to a restaurant and sit down to a yummy fish dinner! Does that make you a cannibal?
Hmmmm....

Greetings and Introduction

I often have "interesting" thoughts run through my mind...whether it's during the early drive to work, or waking up in the shower. My husband has told me that some are most intriguing...while others are quite strange. Either way, I thought I'd share a little of...Eve's Thinking....
